Sarah
SARAH GRIFFIN received her masters in Mental Health Counseling and School Adjustment Counseling from Bridgewater State University in 2014. She found comfort in yoga while studying and working in high stress environments like the crisis unit. Her self practice came alive out in nature and grew deeper when she found Ease Mountain Yoga Studio in the Santa Cruz Mountains. There she met her teacher, Dr. Juko Holiday, who showed her the healing power of utilizing tools from the practice of yoga and the mental health field. Sarah felt like she had found what was missing in traditional counseling and she could finally find ways to calm. Sarah completed a 200 Hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica in 2019 followed by a 100 Hour Yoga Training for Mental Health Professionals with Dr. Holiday.
Sarah will always consider herself a student of yoga. This practice has been a source of light for her during difficult times and she is honored to share the healing benefits yoga has to offer with the beautiful community at Sangha. Sarah believes that you are your own best teacher and she hopes her classes will allow participants to break through self-limiting beliefs on the yoga mat and in life. Her classes will always emphasize safety and alignment, while still being fun, creative and accessible to everyone.
When Sarah is not practicing yoga, you can find her chasing after her 2 year old son or towing him around Fairhaven on her bike. She and her husband enjoy taking their son on adventures and sharing their love of the outdoors, whether on the beach or in the mountains.
